Lately, it seems like whenever one persona decides to dress really feminine, the other dresses super bad-a.
We guess you can say opposites attract.
Like ebony and ivory,
like us and the gym,
like hootie and the blowfish.
...ya know?
Also, Mad's pants are courtesy of our very talented friend Lizzy! She photographs, she cooks, and now you enjoy her amazing seamstress skills. Be sure to check her out!
Today we're thrilled to share with you one of our new favorite places to get adorable and affordable accessories, Poshlocket!
Why are we crushing on Poshlocket? Because they are your one-stop place for all the pretty things you could ever need/want/hope for. Cute nautical pieces, dainty rings, and statement necklaces (which is pretty apparent that we are obsessed... If statement necklaces were a person, we'd receive a restraining order...what?)
But wait! There's more! Poshlocket is offering one lucky Awkward Girls reader an item of their (pinning) choice!
Here's how you win:
Mandatory entries
- Follow Awkward Girls blog
-Pin a Poshlocket item of your choice + leave the link to your pin!
(the item you pin will be the item you win!)
While we're not typically 'hat people' (unless it's a bro-beanie), we would totally switch teams and become those people with a panama hat.
If going on a fancier outing, dress up a typically more casual hat by mixing prints and topping it off with classic accessories and the right pair of heels--we totally have the cloggin' fevah! When about, we love keeping it simple. Maxi dresses are no fuss and the rainbow necklace acts as the perfect punch of color!

And the winner of the $100 GC to Shabby Apple is...
Jane Lundberg
Congrats Jane! To claim your prize, please email us at awkwardgirls2@blogspot.com.

Happy Memorial Day! Today, we woke up early for some thrifting-- 50% off at Savers makes this a Memorial Day tradition. We've been up since 7 am. It's like Christmas for us. The rest of the day will be spent napping, lounging by a pool (we don't know which pool yet, but we'll find one), and hopefully crashing a barbecue or two.
Amidst all the day-off activities, we hope everyone remembers the real reason for the holiday. We have so much gratitude for all those who have willingly served and sacrificed everything for this country and for our freedom.
Bri is the mastermind behind Design Love Fest, and is basically a blogging goddess. She has a cute life, she's a design extraordinaire, and her wardrobe is bananas. Need we say more?
Boy Crush: Ezra Koenig
Ezra is the oh-so-fine frontman of the band, Vampire Weekend, who we saw in concert last night. And at some point in the night, WE SWEAR, he looked over at us and pointed and winked. Or at least we can pretend that happened. We can also pretend we didn't dance like we were on drugs, but that's something you just can't take back.
